LOCATION - Lat 42°23'07.67", long 88°26'41.67" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SE 1/4 SE 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.8, T.45 N., R.7 E., McHenry County, IL, Hydrologic Unit 07120006, 143 feet north of the center of intersection of Jankowski and Raycraft Roads, 0.1 miles west of Route 47, 3.9 miles west of the town of Wonder Lake, 4.9 miles north of Woodstock, and 0.2 miles south of Newman Creek (tributary to Nippersink Creek). Owner: Illinois State Geological Survey.
REVISIONS HISTORY - Revisions: Land-surface datum was revised to 868.04 ft NAVD88 on May 30, 2023, as determined by a GNSS Level II survey. Land-surface datum was previously published in error as 898 ft NAVD88 from LiDAR (furnished). Discrete water-level measurements referenced to NGVD29 and NAVD88 were revised, based on changes to the land-surface datum.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 100.3 ft. Upper casing diameter undefined; top of first opening 95 ft, bottom of last opening 100 ft. Well-casing includes 2-inch schedule 40 PVC pipe, 5.5 in. diameter borehole with bentonite seal, observation well.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 868.04 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: Top of PVC Casing; High point, marked, 2.3 ft above land-surface datum, Sep. 17, 2008 to May. 7, 2012; File mark on south side, top of PVC casing, 3.11 ft above land-surface datum, May. 7, 2012 to present.
