LOCATION - Lat 38°56'58", long 77°22'01" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Fairfax County, VA, Hydrologic Unit 02070008, at U.S. Geological Survey National Center in Reston. Owner: U.S. Geological Survey.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 205 ft. Upper casing diameter 8 in; top of first opening 74 ft, bottom of last opening 75 ft. Drilled observation water well, cased to 35 ft, open hole 35 to 205 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 389.27 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: TOP OF CASING, 2.0 ft above land-surface datum, Oct. 1, 1976 to Sep. 11, 2013; HOLE IN CASING COVER, 2.04 ft above land-surface datum, Sep. 10, 2013 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1976 to current year.
GAGE - Electronic data logger, 15-minute record interval. Prior to Sept. 1, 1996, continuous strip-chart recorder.
REMARKS - Well is located in Manassas Sandstone of Triassic age. Water level affected by magnitude 5.8 Mineral, VA earthquake on Aug. 23, 2011.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 6.47 ft below land-surface datum, Mar. 30, 1984; lowest recorded, 24.60 ft below land-surface datum, Dec. 3, 1998.
