LOCATION - Lat 38°56'07", long 77°38'11" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Prince William County, VA, Hydrologic Unit 02070010, near intersection of State Highways 600 and 615, 2.8 mi south of Aldie.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 165 ft. Upper casing diameter 7 in; top of first opening 50 ft, bottom of last opening 51 ft. Drilled observation water well, cased to 10 ft, open hole 10 to 165 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 422.84 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: TOP OF 1 INCH CONDUIT PIPE, 3.29 ft above land-surface datum, Sep. 11, 2003 to Jul. 25, 2017; TOP OF I INCH CONDUIT PIPE, 3.32 ft above land-surface datum, Jul. 25, 2017 to Oct. 24, 2018; Haskmarks on the top of the aluminum bracket attached to the casing, 2.43 ft above land-surface datum, Oct. 24, 2018 to present. Prior to Sept. 11, 2003, top of casing, 1.00 ft above land-surface datum.
PERIOD OF RECORD - November 1968 to current year.
GAGE - Electronic data logger and pressure transducer, 15-minute record interval. Oct. 1, 1995 to Sept. 30, 2003, occasional measurement with chalked tape by USGS personnel. June 19, 1979 to Oct. 1, 1995, digital recorder, 60-minute punch. Prior to June 19, 1979, continuous strip-chart recorder.
REMARKS - Well is located in Turkey Run Formation of Early Jurassic age. Readings from 1979 to 1981 should be 0.7 ft lower than previously published. Water level affected by local pumpage.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 6.39 ft below land-surface datum, Mar. 14, 2010; lowest recorded, 15.50 ft below land-surface datum, 07/11/2017, result of local pumpage.
