LOCATION - Lat 36°54'10.78", long 76°07'16.28" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Virginia Beach City, VA, Hydrologic Unit 02080108, 0.2 mi south of intersection of U.S. Highway 60 and Baylake Road, at Bayville Farms Park. Owner: City of Virginia Beach.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 197.3 ft. Upper casing diameter 4 in; top of first opening 185.3 ft, bottom of last opening 195.3 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 10.91 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: TOP OF PVC CASING, INDICATED BY BLACK MARK, 1.93 ft above land-surface datum, Apr. 14, 2009 to present; TOP OF PVC MARKED BLACK, 1.57 ft above land-surface datum, Oct. 8, 2014 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - September 2008 to current year.
GAGE - Electronic data logger and pressure transducer, 15-minute record interval. Prior to March 2010, occasional measurement with chalked tape by USGS personnel.
REMARKS - Well is located in Eastover-St. Marys confining unit of Miocene age. Prior to February 2012, aquifer designation was Yorktown-Eastover aquifer of Miocene-Pliocene age.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 6.53 ft below land-surface datum, Mar. 29, 30, 2010; lowest measured, 12.72 ft below land-surface datum, Sept. 7, 2008.
