LOCATION - Lat 36°46'43.38", long 77°04'16.97" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Southampton County, VA, Hydrologic Unit 03010201, in pipeline easement, 720 ft northeast of the intersection of State Highways 628 and 728 and 50 ft west of State Highway 628, along old railroad bed.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 95.55 ft. Upper casing diameter 4 in; top of first opening 80 ft, bottom of last opening 90 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 67.62 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: TOP OF INSIDE PVC, 2.49 ft above land-surface datum, Jun. 10, 2008 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 2008 to current year.
GAGE - Electronic data logger and pressure transducer, 15-minute record interval. Prior to Dec. 8, 2008, occasional measurement with chalked tape by USGS personnel.
REMARKS - Well is located in Aquia aquifer of Paleocene age.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 20.33 ft below land-surface datum, May 1, 2, 2014; lowest measured, 29.04 ft below land-surface datum, July 2, 2008, affected by recent nearby pumpage.
