LOCATION - Lat 36°39'28", long 76°33'29" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Suffolk City, VA, Hydrologic Unit 03010205, 700 ft east of State Highway 642, 4.0 mi south of Suffolk.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 15 ft. Upper casing diameter 22 in; top of first opening undefined, bottom of last opening undefined. Dug unused water well, depth 15 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 40 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: TOP OF RECORDER SHELF, 1.90 ft above land-surface datum, Aug. 5, 1975 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - March 1975 to current year.
GAGE - Electronic data logger and pressure transducer, 15-minute record interval. Mar. 2, 1994 to May 29, 1999, digital recorder, 60-minute record interval. Sept. 20, 1993 to Mar. 2, 1994, occasional measurement with chalked tape by USGS personnel. Jan. 24, 1981, to Sept. 20, 1993, digital recorder 60-minute record interval. Prior to Jan. 24, 1981, continuous strip-chart recorder.
COOPERATION - Records provided by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality - Water Division.
REMARKS - Well is located in Columbia aquifer of Quaternary age.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 0.59 ft below land-surface datum, Sept. 16, 1999; lowest recorded, 13.44 ft below land-surface datum, Jan. 23-26, 1981.
