LOCATION - Lat 35°07'35", long 89°59'32" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Shelby County, TN, Hydrologic Unit 08010210, at Central Avenue and Tanglewood Street, at Memphis. Owner: Memphis Light, Gas and Water Division, City of Memphis.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 488 ft. Upper casing diameter 12.00 in; top of first opening 428 ft, bottom of last opening 488 ft. Drilled unused artesian well.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 286.7 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: Notch in top of casing., 1.30 ft above land-surface datum, Oct. 1928 to present. Elevation of land-surface is 286.70 ft above NGVD of 1929. Measuring point: Top of casing 1.30 ft above land-surface datum.
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1928 to current year. Analog record October 1928 to July 1976, analog to digital (ADR) record July 1976 to September 1997, period tape measurements September 1997 to May 2006, digital record May 2006 to current year.
GAGE - Periodic measurements by USGS personnel and data collection platform--60-minute interval.
REMARKS - Water levels affected by pumping for municipal and industrial water supply in the Memphis area.
