LOCATION - Lat 42°40'44", long 122°44'27" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.30, T.33 S., R.1 E., Jackson County, OR, Hydrologic Unit 17100307, on right bank, 4.5 mi northeast of Trail and at mile 1.5.

DRAINAGE AREA - 129 mi².

REVISIONS HISTORY -

WDR OR-89-2: Drainage area. WDR OR-92-1: 1989(M), 1990(M), 1991(M).

Revision: Annual maximum gage-height for water years 1990, 1991 and 1997 were revised on Nov. 22, 2023, based on further review of the annual peak gage-height record.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

PERIOD OF RECORD - November 1945 to June 2006, October 2006 to current year. Prior to March 1946, monthly discharge only, published in WSP 1318.

GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 1,493.91 ft above NGVD of 1929. Prior to July 5, 1946, nonrecording gage at various sites within 1.0 mi of present site at different datums. July 5, 1946 to June 22, 1950, nonrecording gage and June 23, 1950 to May 23, 1954, water-stage recorder at site 0.5 mi downstream at datum 25.21 ft lower. May 24, 1954 to Sept. 30, 1988, at site 0.8 mi downstream at datum 37.35 ft lower.

REMARKS - No regulation or known diversions upstream from station.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 19,200 ft³/s Dec. 22, 1964, gage height, 18.84 ft, site and datum then in use, from rating curve extended above 4,700 ft³/s on basis of slope-area measurement of peak flow; minimum discharge, no flow July 25, 26, Aug. 5-7, 13-15, 17-20, 2021.
