LOCATION - Lat 44°09'59.5", long 122°15'19.3" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 sec.19, T.16 S., R.5 E., Lane County, OR, Hydrologic Unit 17090004, in Willamette National Forest, on right bank 0.6 mi downstream from Mill Creek and at mile 62.3.
DRAINAGE AREA - 525.96 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - February 2003 to September 2006, October 2017 to current year (gage heights only).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 1,171 ft above NAVD of 1988, from digital elevation model.
REMARKS - Flow regulated since 1963 by Smith River Reservoir (14158795). No diversion upstream from station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 19,700 ft³/s Dec. 31, 2005, gage height, 15.22 ft; maximum gage height, 15.28 ft Apr, 8, 2019; minimum discharge, 1,250 ft³/s Oct. 14, 15, 18, 22, 2003; minimum gage height, 7.96 ft Oct. 25, 2018.

WATER TEMPERATURE: Previously published under station number 14159150 in USGS Water Data Report OR-84-2.

TURBIDITY: Data collected using Analite NEP195 turbidity sensor. Manufacturers stated precision is +/- 1 percent of reading at 25°C. Formazin Nephelometric Unit values below 10 are reported to nearest 0.1 FNU. Negative recorded values are reported as 0.0 FNU. 

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD -

WATER TEMPERATURE: Maximum, 14.2°C July 22, 31, 2003, July 23, 2006; minimum recorded, 2.5°C Feb. 18, 19, 2006, but may have been lower during period of missing record.

TURBIDITY: Maximum, >135 FNU Dec. 30, 31, 2005, Jan. 10, 11, 2006; minimum, <1 FNU on many days each year.
