LOCATION - Lat 39°30'30", long 106°21'58" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.20, T.6 S., R.80 W., Eagle County, CO, Hydrologic Unit 14010003, on left bank at Red Cliff, and 0.3 mi upstream from Turkey Creek.
DRAINAGE AREA - 70.2 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WRD Colo. 1972: 1971. WDR-US-2011: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1910 to September 1925, May 1944 to current year. Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1313.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry. Datum of gage is 8,658.61 ft above NAVD of 1988, from GNSS survey.  Prior to Aug. 10, 2021, the datum of gage was reported as 8,653.80 ft above NGVD of 1929, (levels by U.S. Bureau of Reclamation). Jan. 8, 1911 to Sept. 30, 1925, nonrecording gage at bridge 0.3 mi downstream at different datum. May 24, 1944 to Oct. 12, 1952, water-stage recorder at site 50 ft downstream at datum 1.46 ft lower. Oct. 13, 1952 to May 5, 1982, at site 250 ft downstream at datum 5.00 ft lower.
REMARKS - Water year 2014; records fair except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2015; records good except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge observed, 1,010 ft³/s, June 5, 1912, from rating curve extended above 500 ft³/s, gage height, 4.00 ft, site and datum then in use.
