LOCATION - Lat 39°57'51", long 83°49'54" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Clark County, OH, Hydrologic Unit 05080001, on left bank at downstream side of bridge on St. Paris Pike, 0.8 mi southeast of Eagle City, 1.1 mi downstream from Moore Run, 3.1 mi upstream from Buck Creek, 3.3 mi south of Tremont City, and at mile 29.5.
DRAINAGE AREA - 310 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1965 to September 1995, October 1998 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 903.93 ft (NAVD 1988). Prior to Oct. 1, 2013 datum of gage 904.66 ft (NGVD 1929).
COOPERATION - Base data furnished by Miami Conservancy District.
REMARKS -

Discharge records fair for the 2014 water year except estimated records, which are poor. Oct. 1, 2014 to Feb. 17, 2015: discharge records fair. Feb. 18, 2015 to June 22, 2015: discharge records good. June 23, 2015 to Aug. 25, 2015: discharge records fair except for estimated records, which are poor. Aug. 26, 2015 to Dec. 1, 2015: discharge records good. Dec. 2, 2015 to Nov. 1, 2016: discharge records good except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. For the period Nov. 2, 2016 to Dec. 8, 2017, discharge records rated good.  Dec. 9, 2017 to Aug. 2, 2018: discharge records fair, except for estimated periods which are poor.  Aug. 3, 2018 to Oct. 22, 2018: discharge records good, except for estimated periods which are poor.

Water is diverted from well field adjacent to Mad River upstream from station by Springfield Water Treatment Plant and is returned as treated wastewater downstream from station; recharge to well field is largely induced infiltration from Mad River and Moore Run. Average pumpage rates from well field in ft³/s for the following water years are in the table below:
