LOCATION - Lat 41°35'45.4", long 74°28'05.5" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Sullivan County, NY, Hydrologic Unit 02040104, on left bank 75 ft downstream from bridge on U.S. Highway 209, 2.0 mi downstream from confluence of South Brook and Primrose Brook, 0.7 mi upstream from mouth, and 1.6 mi northeast of Wurtsboro.
DRAINAGE AREA - 10.3 mi².  
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - December 2019 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 563.67 ft above NAVD of 1988.
REMARKS - Water Years 2020-23: Records fair except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of Aug. 19, 1955 reached a discharge of 2,870 ft³/s, on basis of slope-area measurement of peak flow 0.4 mi upstream from station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 793 ft³/s, Sept. 1, 2021, gage height, 8.32 ft, from rating curve extended above 310 ft³/s on basis of runoff comparison with nearby stations; minimum discharge, 1.13 ft³/s, Aug. 21, 2022, gage height, 4.70 ft; minimum gage height, 4.70 ft, part of every day, Aug. 21, 25-30, 2022.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: Maximum, 174 uS/cm at 25°C, June 19, 2020; minimum, 19 uS/cm at 25°C, Sept. 2, 2021. WATER TEMPERATURE: Maximum, 22.6 °C, Aug. 6, 2022; minimum, 0.0 °C on many days during winter periods.
