LOCATION - Lat 41°28'09.9", long 75°06'32.2" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Pike County, PA, Hydrologic Unit 02040103,

DRAINAGE AREA - 542 mi².  

REVISIONS HISTORY - Prior to July 7, 2023, the datum of gage was reported as 776 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

PERIOD OF RECORD - June 2021 to current year, continuous record discharge site.

GAGE - Water-stage recorder, crest-stage gage, and water-quality monitor. Datum of gage is 769.8 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988 from GNSS survey.  Prior to July 7, 2023, the datum of gage was erroneously reported as 776 ft above NAVD88.  Satellite telemetry at station.

COOPERATION - Station established and maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey as part of the Next Generation Water Observing System network.

REMARKS - Regulation since 1960 by Prompton Reservoir (station 01428900), and at high flow since 1959 by General Edgar Jadwin Reservoir (station 01429400), and since 1959 from Wallenpaupack Lake (station 01431700). Records are good except those for estimated discharge, which are poor.

INSTRUMENTATION - Temperature probe interfaced with a data collection platform since Aug 2021.

REMARKS - Cross-sectional water temperature data is available upon request.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - WATER TEMPERATURE: Maximum,  25.2°C, Aug 30, 2022; minimum 0°C or less, several days during winter periods.
